Update 18.08.2017

Post by Sibernetika » Fri Aug 18, 2017 9:49 am

I posted in another forum, bit I wasn't sure where to post it so I'm posting it here as well

I like the update, but I think it needs a bit of a optimisation, because my performance dropped, like a rock.. Hacking just became superhard with delayed responses, I can see my animation and game response time has received a decrease in performance, sometimes clicking on a node I have to tap some nodes several times just to select them.. I didn’t have any of these issues in the previous update.. Has unity itself maybe done some updates to their engine?

Hmm we did not experience it on our test devices. What device model do you use and what Android version? And do you use any "overlay app" such as screen recording, active chat, gestures apps etc?

Since I have run a foul with unity based games previously and found out it was unity itself and not the developer that was causing the problem I'm willing to assume again it's unity that did an update, I will see if other unity based games is have the same issues with custom android roms

Cheers for the additional info, and for giving us the benefit of the doubt regarding a unity-related issue!

We are aware of an issue regarding Unity detailed here: https://issuetracker.unity3d.com/issues ... uch-events and are working towards a solution. In the short term, disabling any overlay apps should restore touch screen functionality and enable you to play the game.

The theme is probably not affecting the performance.
We are using newer version of Unity engine and it can be heavier for the tech than the previous versions.
We are now updating our Unity engine, will recompile the game within newer Unity version. If it does not help, we will need to think about some optimizations (the game is quite optimzed already though).

I noticed recently if I'm in game the moment I get a message from messenger the game stops registering any input until I remove the messenger bubble, ball, balloon, thingy.. But in overall my performance feels like Im suddenly playing at 10fps whereas I have been playing 30fps before the update.. But I really do think unity is the culprit here, once we can establish unity as the cause I can inform the rom developer to try and modify his code

Edit: Nevermind just read the link that luminaar posted

Please take a look at my post here - viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1448&p=10840#p10840
Please let us know if it helped (once you manage to download v1.035), hopefully it will improve your experience a bit.

Hi there, I would like to ask. Last year we had two threads about possible updates to the game such as defensive programs for those being hacked, additional nodes, programs, etc etc. Not to sound like an unhappy customer but we are still sitting with the same original game. There were soooo many awesome ideas that I got really excited for the posibilities that could possibly be implemented and everytime an update comes out I find myself feeling disappointed over and over again. Although it is an awesome game I am starting to seriously lose interest as it is getting a bit repetitive and there is nothing new to look forward to... while I am here, although me and my friend are separated by only 6 levels and 70 rep points we cannot find each other on the world map. Can I ask also how is it determined who shows up in your world map?
I would love a timeline as to when some new content can be expected please!?

I'll attempt to answer as much of this as possible. :)

While it would be easy of me to say that it shows the strength of the original game, it's quite clear that at some point, the strength and originality of the base product needs expanding on somehow. Players have come up with a wide variety of ideas, some of which have already been implemented. We truly do listen the requests of players - I'll squeeze a screenshot in below - and while we do reject a few of them for what we believe are good reasons (such as suggestions that would alienate players on low specification devices for example), we have remained open to the mass majority of requests.

(For integrity's sake, I must stress that this just a snapshot of player requested features, and is not a list of things that will definitely make it into the game.)

So ... last year! As you may (or may not!) know, the Trickster Arts team is a super small bunch of dedicated folks who, in the past year, have uprooted sticks and relocated cross-country as part of growing into and establishing the team they are now. This has truly been a difficult (yet amazing,) year for the tiny team.

As for the cyberwar, the team plan to be supporting Hackers for many years to come. (As well as bringing you some new super secret projects too!) We do spend a massive amount of hours with dealing with "unseen work" - we review every single case where a player reports a network for cheating, process a massive amount of network resets, extra name changes, reconnecting players who have new devices or have lost their networks, resolving issues where players have lost, didn't receive, (or are trying to scam!) credit purchases, just to name a few! During all that though, we have managed to add "smaller" additional features to the game in between all of the above (if you can count 16 languages as a small thing!) and will continue to keep improving the experience for players as we keep moving forward.

That being said, we know players want more control over chat, tougher challenges, hacker groups, new programs and nodes, more leaderboards and competition/tournaments, UI adjustments, and more! Regarding a future timeline, we pride ourself on our integrity, and do not want to promise any date that we don't believe we will be able to keep, simply to give you something you want to hear. We honestly do not know when we will be able to implement a specific feature, and there really aren't too many small features remaining that we would like to have implemented already, so while I know that's not really the answer you were looking for, it's the best I can give you for now.

Level and Reputation are the two largest factors when it comes to searching other players. Don't forget though, players who have received a successful hack in the last 3 hours won't show up as a search target. Neither will someone who is also online - I hope you're not looking for each other at the same time!
