Stealth 'cheat sheet'

Post by Stoic » Sun Nov 27, 2016 4:26 pm

Since I have access to the stealth programs, I have developed interest in stealth attacks, especially stealth / brute-force combination with the portal.
After getting 'frustrated' with several unsuccessful attacks, I decided to create an Excel spreadsheet that calculates how much visibility time it takes to install the a number of stealth programs, including considering scanner level and their own levels and such. Also, it has some totals for the total visibility time of several common combinations of stealth programs during an attack.
There are also some data leech times, though those only concern around installing the data leech, not the visibility time during the download itself.

Surely, these are all *minimal* visibility times, as it also takes time to select a node and program, et cetera. Further, it has not been tested very thoroughly, so it might contain bugs. The stats origin from the wikia site.

Now, I would like to share this spreadsheet with this community. However, before just bluntly going ahead with this, I'd like to ask permission from the game developers. As, in a way, it could be a spoiler for the game.

Here is a little preview to give an impression of what this spreadsheet looks like:

nice effort man!

was using excel to simulate my hacks since the beginning, but never standardized it in such a way.

and there is one thing to consider:
not all ur programs will be under the scanner range.

only "bug" i could point out

Thanks. Wouldn't the 'scanner 0' accommodate for that?

i mean suppose this scenario:
2 access programs are under no scanner
3 access and 2 wraiths are being used under a lvl 6 scanner
portal being used under no scanner

can ur sheet sim that?

The visibility amounts for each level of stealth programs placed under scanner level 1-10 range is seen on the preview so yes.

I understand your point now. The sheet does not simulate various scanner levels in one go.

You would need to manually divide the calculation (including the number of programs per category) in multiple parts. E.g.:

- calc with programs under no scanner
- calc with programs under low level scanner
- calc with programs under high level scanner

Then manually add these numbers.

Also it assumes that code gates are always first destroyed with wraith before access is placed. There are no calculations with code gate without wraith (considering the code gate filter percentage).

So, to summarize, it is not a complete simulation of an attack. That would require some enhancement where more input would be required with respect to multiple scanner levels in a network ... which is a nice thing to perhaps add in a future version ;).

Finally, I still haven't got explicit permission from the developers to share this sheet...

shout out to the guys who access code gates before wraithing them :P

Thanks you for all the ideas given in this discussion. Since the document is not shared (yet ?), I had to do my own "Stealth attack planner".
Here is a screenshot of how it looks like, if that may inspire some of you.

If it is allowed, here is the link to the excel sheet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_r8hU ... sp=sharing

Nice work man.

I just got an idea by looking at your "cheat sheet" and im going to implement it soon in my work:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=742

Check it out...

I just started it.

Im going to work on stealth visibility calculator, sounds cool 8-)

Tonight or tomorrow night it will be ready.
