And don't get me started on people who attack only my core, leave a message and then log off with 300k plus (90k-100k profit) sitting in their Database.

I've only had about 6 people beat my base in the 3 weeks I've been playing (Resources and Core). All of them only used Blasters, Ice Walls and Cannons. Apart from one guy who used Access and Leechs, when I foolishly had both scanners upgrading at the same time.

I can't see me complaining about training times for a long time.

The only program I would have an issue with is Manic. 30mins is way too long. But having said that it looks a completely OP virus, so maybe that isn't a bad thing.

You're 28. At your level you use only 30 cannons? ONLY 4 ice walls??
I'll assume that you use the blaster to get through the code gates. But what about those nodes which are surrounded by atleast 2 upgraded turrets. Especially if the node is a scanner. You can't defend that with 2 ice walls, can you?

At my level (15), I use around 30 cannons and 8 walls. 1 data leech. And 2 rams, 1 for each code gate. I usually find 2 code gates in all networks. Sometimes even a few shurikens.

How do you even find people below your level?

Ok - Code Gates One Blaster two Cannons * 2 Gates. The freeze of Blaster means you don't normally need a Wall.

Then onto Scanner. Most people link all their defences. It pointless, once the scanner is down (normally 2-3 Ice Walls plus 2 Cannons) you take a turret. Place an Ice Wall and three Cannons into it. That takes a sentry or even better a Black Ice. Place 4 or 5 Cannons into a Sentry or Black Ice and that takes down everything that is connected. Once you have the first Turret forget about defending the scanner, just keep losing it and retaking it with the node before. Then at least one of their remaining Turret and Black Ice will keep attacking the scanner, meaning that your first Turret overtake is complete safe with only one Ice Wall. At this point I've used about 15 Cannons. The rest of the base I mop up with two-three Cannons on each connection, sometimes only one if I have loads of time.

On some set-up's I may use 6 Walls. This is normally when they have Code gates at the end, with a another node attached to the one you're trying to attack from. Sometimes I need an extra Wall whilst taking the Code Gate. Or if I mess up with the scanner. I need to use a couple more there. But on average only 4 is needed. I normally attack with 8. but only use 4.

The most ridiculously thing I see all the time is Black Ice connected to all other defences. It has room for 5 programs. It's a free take over of a base. I have mine hanging to the side, on it's own, not connected to anything apart from the choke point.

It term of finding people below my level, i keep my reputation low between 500-700. I just tank match against level 20's and drop. i.e start a fight, send in no programs and disconnect using the top left disconnect.

Half the time they attack me back, only taking my core. dropping my reputation even more. And I get a free retrace on them as well.

I don't even bother to defend against Krakens yet. My Core is next to a Net Connection. It's 1250 Fire Wall wastes about 10-15 secs whilst they take it. I don't care about reputation at the moment. And i just get free retraces when people take it.

Nah 5 builders. Cost me about £14.99 and a few week saving credits. Playing these games with anything lower that 4 builder is just a bit pointless. Although I don't really plan to spend much more. I would never use to fill up on cash or B-coin. Speed training is the best for your credit if you're into that. But I don't really plan too.

Actually probably taking a break from the game soon to play Civilization 6 for a few weeks. :D

Here you go. Just made a couple of attacks.

Against:
Level 34 - 2 Blasters, 7 Ice Walls, 38 Cannons. But he was higher than me
Level 25 - 1 Blasters, 5 Ice Walls, 34 Cannons.
Level 23 - 1 Blaster, 4 Ice Walls, 32 Cannons.

250k Gold - 5k B-Coin in 25 mins. Had someone take 90k Gold overnight, but that's rare. And I can beat his level 33 base. But he has nothing in there at the moment apart from B-Coin and I want gold.

Oh and the level 33 who beat me, had to use 2 Blasters - 11 Ice Walls - 37 Cannons. Meh waste of Ice Walls.

Yeah well as I said taking a break to play Civ 6. Probably for a few weeks. Speed training is when you finish training programs using credits. Costs about 8 Credits. I've done it a couple of times when running out of my three hours protection.

My Blaster is level 3, Walls actually level 5. Although walls at level 4 would do. I over levelled it. But Level 4 will be exactly the same amount used. Cannon Level 7.

No I don't care about reputation. Especially with level 70's at the top. I'll probably take No.1 in the UK at some point. Although I get bored of games really quickly. I overplay them to quickly and too fast and then find another. :lol:

This topic has taken some interesting turns. I agree that there are many troop combinations that are not necessarily the best bag for someone's buck, and that steps can be taken to minimize your compilation time. However the point of this topic is to discuss ways to speed up this process from the developer's end. To make this happen we need 3 things...

* A number of solutions to the problem that are profitable to the company and require minimal coding.
* Community support to show the developers that this issue is important to us.
* The will to keep the subject alive and always in the back of the developers minds.

If we keep at it eventually we will succeed.

Thank you for supporting the game and helping to make it a success by reducing the program compilation time.
