What if Rank boundaries are dynamically based on players' reputation?

Currently, there is a hard boundary for every rank.

Rookie needs 500 Reputation.
Talent needs 750 Reputation.
Skilled needs 1000 Reputation.
Experienced needs 1250 Reputation.
Advanced needs 1500 Reputation.
Senior needs 1750 Reputation.
Expert needs 2000 Reputation.
Veteran needs 2250 Reputation.
Master needs 2500 Reputation.
Elite needs 3000 Reputation.

However, it can be argued that the reputation rewards are worthless unless you're at least Veteran or above.

Since the required reputation is so high, it ends up becoming the case that most people would rather not bother ranking up. So the reputation reward doesn't solve the problem of people dumping reputation at the low reputation range, nor does it solve the problem of being difficult to climb at the high reputation range.

In fact, not a single person even have 3000 Reputation.

So what if the reputation boundaries were dynamically determined based on the reputation of the players'?

For example:

Instead of saying that Elite needs 3000 Reputation, we say that 0.1% of the ranked players (people with >500 Reputation) should be Elites. Suppose we have 6000 ranked players. Then the reputation boundary for Elite will automatically be set so that the top 6 players are Elite. Currently, that would put Elite at 2400 Reputation, as opposed to the 3000 Reputation, which no one has.


This may make it more reasonable for people to climb the reputation ladder, and encourage more people to start gathering reputation.

Got the point but still not appealing to me to rank the f up, the skins r appealing but way too pricey so thats out the window and it would be better to just change the reward system and watch the ranking begin, players would hack each other like vultures :lol: :D

I am talking about the hacker storage if your storage max is 10 million then 1% of it is 100k

The krakens forced some people to dump their rep. I just got hacked and I lost 7 rep, and six hundred dollars out of 1.5Mil. just case he download the core...

So sometimes it rep or money...
Rep to many people doesn't seem to do lusch, where else money does.

That's what I thought but PerseVerAnce just hacked me with the kraken :roll:

The rewards definitely need a boost, I've been floating around in the top 20 for weeks now and it still is barely worth it. The main problem with making it dynamic is no one would have to climb rep, and only climb the rankings. Still would be a refreshing change though. Could you imagine everyone at 200 rep? Best of both worlds, however unlikely.
