Which one combination of choke point with code gates is better?

Post by tetroboylp » Sun Dec 18, 2016 10:27 am

Want to improve my topology, so what do you think may work better?

Sample 1 :

My opinion is that this might be better.
PROs:
+Harder to break trough second code gate with battering ram, since guardian is connected
+Needs to break whole scanner choke point to attack the gate with battering ram
+I can put program library somewhere else, and can make the network one step wider
CONs:
-Scanner placement and its covered area
-If the Code gate is wraithed, intruder need only protector and shuriken to get trough

Sample 2 :

PROs:
+Scanner placement
+Shuriken wont be that effective with guardian protecting the library, so intruder will probablly have to take down whole choke point
CONs:
-Not a good idea to connect both choke points, so put there program library too
-I do not like that library between the choke points anyways

So what do you think may be better?Maybe some tips to improve the choke points?

I like the first one more, I'm even using something like that in my current layout.

I prefer code gates separated bcause I think there must have a space between them to have a good efficiency of the scanner.
(Scanners must cover code gates AND nodes where the hacker starts)

In my pre-previous network (http://i.imgur.com/SjXtTpZ.jpg), it's easy for someone to install a portal onto my 2nd code gate, ignoring the high level scanner

Just remember that currently, guardians + codegates are bugged and a blaster can rip through a code gate that is protected by a guardian.
