I would like people to check out my network. What's good? What's bad? Please and thank you =)

Ok my opinion.

1, I like your scanner placement, good.
2, I would personally put that bitcoin and gold farm behind second code gate and before database and mixer. But overall, I think it is quite good on your level, just check replays if the left turret (closer to resources) is attacked first then swap it with the other one, if it will fix it. Since we dont really know attack priorities in some cases, it might work.

But looks decent and thought out to me.

Ok. Thank you very much. I made the change with the database and mixer. From the replays I saw the turret closer to the resources was getting attacked first. I didn't bother switching it before because they had the same firewall amount and technically it should be attacking the black ice first, since they have higher firewall. So I'm not sure how the attack priority works anymore haha.

I have core lvl 6, so i can build 1 more nodes
sentry, turret, black ICE, scanner are the available defense ones
bcoin mine and server farm are the available business nodes (i dnt need any more business nodes, but just putting the info out there anyways)
My main goal is to protect everything, but bitcoins more than the others

Any suggestions guys?

EDIT 1: i know scanner lvl 1 should be used as choke, but at this low rep i am not even being attacked, but im planning to raise my rep soon, so want a solid network, lvl 17 btw.
EDIT 2: i moved my lvl3 (soon4) scanner in between the sentry and evolver. added a lvl 1 scanner for the choke point
EDIT 3: after meticulously reading through guides on the forum (big thanks Fluffington and some others), i got rid of my scanner lvl1 and used guardian choke, and added turret and black ice to my higher lvl scanner, i made config 3. What do you think about the core placement? ive seen the same config, but with the core attached to the evolver making you loose easy rep, is there any reason why this is bad?

Thats it... I dnt know what to do anymore.. Just upgraded my core to lv 7 and got 2 extras nodes, so now I need to remake the network.
Tried a few designs but I don't really want to lose this defense design. It worked really good before, ppl spend too much time and resources to get thru it.

The thing is, now everyone is coming with Portals and Wraiths and its getting harder. Really thinking about lowering my rep (750~800 now).

with my limited knowledge i may say:
1) ur scanner is low level, level it asasp to 6 or 8
2) have the scanner cover both of your code gates for max visibility spent by the attacker
3) have ur scanner 3 nodes from ur nearest net cnx

im only lvl 17 (suppose i have a portal) i can probably be able to port to your close bcoin mine

Attackers are forced to portal onto either of the chokes because of the level 8 scanner. What do you guys think?

If you are worried about kraken, leave your core outside. See this topic for more information on how to defend against the kraken

Now onto your "modified" network:


1. Disconnect the front section.
This will make sure the attacker only has one way of getting to the evolver

2. Use scanner as choke point.
More information on choke points here

3. 3 sentries in one group is too many.
Delete one of them and get another code gate or something. I have a section in here about deleting nodes.

You generally need 1 sentry per "group" in your base. So right now, your groups would be the hacking nodes group(evolver, compiler etc), defence + core group, and the resource group.

Don't worry too much about putting a sentry in the hacking nodes group as they are "give away" nodes. Put just one sentry with your defence. Remember that antivirus spreads immediately from the sentry to the defence nodes when the attack begins so having 3 sentries there would be redundant.

4. Place the other sentry in the resource group
That way, the resources have antivirus's on them too.

Show us what you have at the moment. I personally don't have two scanners so i cant really make a network to show you an example
