Specific anti-program designs [GUIDE]

Introduction In this post, I will talk about some network strategies to counter certain program combos. This a defence guide, not an attacking guide . Go to the Hacking strategies forum for attack guides. Keep in mind that all network strategies also have their own program counters. But hopefully t...

Re: Core 3-5 Ideas

Fluff, how did you get some of your nodes detached from your network? Or did you just photo-edit the connections? Step 1 http://i.imgur.com/tbB83Ol.png Step 2 http://i.imgur.com/kcJKq12.png Step 3 http://i.imgur.com/lxpnACc.png Tadaa! http://i.imgur.com/dkFl6xF.png Now I just re-connect them at my ...

Re: What does the loading screen tip about multiple scanners say?

When multiple scanners see activity at the same time, only the higher level one works/activates. (Something like that)

So if you have a lvl1 scanner and a lvl4 scanner and they both see activity, only the the lvl4 activates - meaning that muiltiple scanners don't stack

Core 3-5 Ideas [IDEAS/INSPIRATION]

Introduction If you are Core 1-2, go away... I'm kidding. But I'm not making a guide for those two levels because it's too simple to make a guide on :P Okay, this will probably be a long post but hopefully it'll be informative. A few notes before we get started: These bases are just what I think wi...

Re: Is this a good setup?

This is exactly the kind of advice I'm looking for. I chose the scanner as the choke because of it's weak firewall and 4 connections allowing 2 turrets. The gate is after the sentry to allow Max exposure to the turrets (untested, if opponent uses single target viruses will they focus the gate or tu...

Re: Is this a good setup?

My core level is 4 so keep that in mind when suggesting tech. Obviously I'm upgrading nodes as possible. My only alternative in available nodes is to replace something with a second sentry. Not sure if my sentry does better connected where shown or to the turrets to give the choke point a little mo...

Hahaha nws. I saw that the concept of choke points was being talked about in the forums, so I decided to make a topic explaining it

Re: Advice for my Level 7 Core Network?

If your worried about stealth, heres a few tips: 1. You really only need one good positioned scanner for a good defence. This is because when two scanners detect activity, only the higher level one activates. 2. Use your code gates well. Preferably in range of your scanner. Code gate's filter makes ...
