Stealth, scanners and code gates [GUIDE]

Introduction One of the main concepts I love about hackers is the stealth mode. This mode allows you do steal resources, disable nodes, and even make a backdoor entry in the network before the network even realises you are there. Of course, as defenders, we want to keep these stealthy hackers out o...

Re: Network Build screenshots

Nice first attempt. So you tried doing a snake design. When the hacker reaches your compiler, the turret and black ICE will 2v1 that red compiler. With high enough power, this battle over the evolver should be in your favour. Hope that helps! Thanks. It certainly did. :D It seemed logical to do a '...

Re: Core 3-5 Ideas

Where should I put the scanner ? And what exactly do u mean by 'choke point' ? You should take a look at my other two guides: http://forum.tricksterarts.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=380 For a guide on defending against specific attacks. Scroll down to the Access and Data leech section. I talk about the...

Re: Core 3-5 Ideas

This is my defense strategy for lvl 5 core. http://forum.tricksterarts.com/download/file.php?id=116 Looks good. One thing I noticed is that you don't have a scanner. I would get rid of one of the server farms and swap it out for a scanner. Scanners are really helpful for defending against stealth. ...

Re: Network Build screenshots

http://i.imgur.com/lCZASf9.png No copy pasta please. Suggestions would be highly appreciated. Would like someone to get to my resources everyone tried but no one got to my resources. Legal also failed to get to my resources. Looks good to me. My main concern is the guardian. You want it to give shi...

Re: Summary of pointers for building networks.

...and the other topics may be very long How else are they going to be informative? Of course defensive posts are long, because they have to explain why things work. Otherwise you sound like a bossy maniac saying "Oh this works. Everyone should do it". I've tried to make my guides structured and ea...

Re: Specific anti-program designs

Another decent guide. However, this one could be improved a bit, with tips and tricks on each section, for the attacker. Thanks for the advice, but when I was making the guide, my main goal was to show the defence side of this game. I touched a little bit on the attacker side because of course you ...
