This is not a bug, the battering ram is attacking the shield that the Guardian employed. As you can see in the screenshot, the battering ram is directed towards the black ice which must have had a shield from the Guardian when the battering ram program deployed.

There are no downsides to hacking Marty. Everything will work out afterwards.
