First, I like to apologize for my mediocre English, I'm German.
So I decided to create a thread regarding your first impression of Hackers because no one else did yet. It's not just important that players keeps playing but also that you make them play in the first place. This thread may help Trickster improve their great game even more and make it the ultimate game!
So what was your first impression of Hackers?
Your first impression of Hackers
Re: Your first impression of Hackers
That it sounded very cool and worth downloading, which I almost never do. This is the only mobile game I've played other than fallout or chess. Once I started playing I was hooked and have pretty much played every day for months now. Just wish things moved a little faster but I'm told that's normal for mobile games.
Good impression on me so far and I've recommended it to all my friends, even with the couple hiccups it has.

Re: Your first impression of Hackers
When first starting I think it does well in giving you enough tips to get started but not overwhelming you with tutorials like some other mobile games. As a player I think the start is just fine.
However, in pure free to play game design model they are missing out on a key revenue point. That "new player" feel is not being given any opportunities for a starter package or other optional pay rewards aside from the standard buying of credits that all players have. Obviously we as players don't want extortion type play walls, but there is something to be said about putting early OPTIONAL pay packages for new players to get a little bit more for your money. For example maybe a packages that give a like 200 credits and a build thread for like 1/2 the normal cost. Not overpowered to well established players but a nice boost for a new player.
In general I think this game is suffering from the first of the issues described in this video about F2P game design

My first impression was: "Holy shit, is this a mobile strategy game with actually deep strategy each 'match'? And no need to rely on clans/guilds to survive? This might be the first Clash of Clans style empire builder worth my time."
Hell_Diguner - C12L39, Had C12L29 (world record), Shuriken main
DiaboliExMachina - C12L38, Worms+Maniac main
CaptainDavyJones - C12L39, Beams main, will eventually be Kraken main

Re: Your first impression of Hackers
Came because the name sounded cool.
Stayed because of the strategic elements.
Didn't really have any expectation at first to be honest. Thought it would just be like Ogame or something where you just press the Attack button and it does some math and give you the results.
It turned out to be much better than I thought. But I only realized that after I got hacked a few times and watched the replays.
It is very unfortunate that the tutorial doesn't really do the strategic elements of the game any justice. The importance of network architecture and the strategy needed to hack a well structured network isn't really well demonstrated. It also hypes up the Worm, which turns out to be pretty lame later on, which is kinda funny. Most of the information about the game also requires Googling.
My fear is that if someone doesn't play long enough at first, they could get entirely the wrong impressions and miss the point of the game altogether.

If you are still having issues after the maintenance, try getting into contact with an admin directly. They have been pretty good at fixing account issues from what I've seen so far.
