Well with 2 beams , atleast your defenses will have a chance to hold or waste time versus 3 or 4 beams firing . Again , a decent hacker can still be easily able to overcome this and completely hack any base . Just trying to think of a viable solution which can be implemented with minimal disruption to the game . I’m sure there’s is a far better solution out there and someone will eventually come up with it

So... my fix is not a better solution, you think? The problem is the spamming of the program makes it much more effective than it should be, which is why I think my suggestion would be the proper way to fix the program, but since TA hasn't made such a change they must either believe it's not necessary to change the Shocker again OR that no suggestions are good enough. Only wish there was some back and forth discussion to know why nothing has been done to the shocker.

Well , if i remember correctly what you said was to make shocker lie dormant for the duration it shocks the nodes and then re shock the nodes again. If this is what you are referring to , then its also a good one . But i would rather have the hacker use the shocker again , this way it forces him to use more programs , assuming the use of shocker also disables the slot .

In the end if implementing what u said is easy , then yeah why not then ? Better than how it is now

Aye congrats everyone! TA took all your shitty suggestions and turned it into an "AI". Level 1 hawk renders a maxed out shocker useless - like using a Maniac to get through a Code Gate!
The Shocker is now officially the most useless program in the game, surpassing even the Maniac! GREAT STUFF~!

Seriously though I didn’t fully understand why people were having such an issue with shocker until just now since I just got hit by someone who brought 12 level 15 shockers and 71 level 21 shurikens and obliterated my entire network without using anything but those and some wraiths on my code gates.

Originally I was on the side saying shocker was strong if used with protector blaster combo but no it’s just outright retarded on higher levels. I got legitimately ZERO AV pulses off my security nodes from how long the disable is. NERF SHOCKER or make a REAL defense against it. There’s no reason you should be able to disable a node for 10 seconds AND take the capacity to do so for the entire hack on a network by just spamming shockers.

And in response to lurking rage shocker is still useful it’s called a protector. All you do is put an ice wall shocker then protector and then just put shurikens or whatever to get out of a choke point. There’s still no viable defense against high level shockers if someone has even a moderate amount of skill with program deployment

I did see the AI update and on the same note it still isn’t an outright defense. You can still just shocker your way to victory with ice walls and protectors. A level 18 protector can outheal a level 21 hawk AI. You can still just mass level shockers so they down a network for a year and a half and punch through everything and you can still use a level 14 protector to hold yourself against an AI hawk long enough to punch through with decently leveled beams or a high level blaster. It’s barely a defense at all.just pop an ice shield and shocker protector then a second ice shield while the protector arms and boom you can still punch the choke point and get through. And if you need to check my numbers go look at the wiki and compare the AI hawk with the shocker level times. The ptoector regeneration rate and buffer sizes and the ICE wall a sizes to get the overall time you need. The hawk AI even at max level is still rendered useless to comparable or even underleveled programs by comparison. We need a legitimate defense against the shocker program the AI was a good possibility but it’s easily rendered useless with the exact same strategy plus ONE nuance
