Core Defense vs. Resource/Reserve Defense

Postby WolfSaint » Mon Oct 22, 2018 6:49 pm

Thought I'd ask which is better since I'm coming back. I'd attach examples but the photos are too big so I have text examples below.

Reserves/AI/Core - Gate - Resource/Defenses - Gate - Hacking/netConnections
Reserves/AI/Resource - Gate - Defenses - Gate - Hacking/Core/net connections

Im essentially asking which is better, letting people easily steal my Core for cheap reputation & resources so my reserves are harder to hit or keeping my core & reserves together so the only way to get them is by using really op gear?

If you have no interest at all in gathering reputation, then using your Core as an additional bulky node to slow down attackers is certainly viable.

You don't have to make it so easy for your attackers by placing it near the netConnections though - the Core can serve as a better decoy when attached to a low firewall Scanner along with other lower priority nodes midway through the network. :)

(>•w•)> *hugs* love that last idea, so don't make it easy but still make my foes debate between resources & core.
