Thanks for the feedback and response - your remaining advice is solid! High level Blasters and Battering Rams are very rare early on, making Code Gates fantastic defensive nodes as you mentioned :D

There's not a huge visibility difference using the program levels mentioned, but there could certainly be other elements in play such as directly accessing code gates, network paths which avoid Scanners etc. Could you provide a video of your replays, or possibly a screenshot of your network with the...
